On Sunday CHristian will arrive from the North and withim Pipparkaogor och glögg. I wanted to spread some christmas happiness with a nice picture of the delicious winter options from the north but instead I got grandpa Lundquist's pervie products. I just don't agree with the world order. What did the swedes do wrong when conquering the world?

If you do I'll get the luciadräkt and the head candles and it's a party! Anyone of you barceloners up for coming? Or maybe we should wait until the 6th when James arrives? Or is it going to be another of those uncontrollable Irish long weekends where days blur into each other in an alcoholic frenzy?

I bought saffran from spain in sweden, you get the saffran in a small little bag and it almost feels like your dealing with the clerk.
No saffransbullar with out saffran.

Or you mean "gurkmeja"? That is a yellow powder that doesn´t taste anything and makes food yellow.
Gurkmeja, that's it. More yellow powder to the world. The taste beats saffran with hästlängder and the colour is clearer.

Gurkmeja härstammar från Sydostasien där den har odlats mycket länge. Nu odlas gurkmeja i hela Asien och Afrika, men det viktigaste odlingsområdet är de tropiska delarna av Sydostasien.
Gurkmeja blir ca 1 meter hög och har underjordiska rotstammar. De är tjocka och köttiga och det är dem man äter. Köttet är starkt gul-orange eller ibland röd-orange och har en aromatisk doft. Ytan är brun och hård. Gurkmeja säljs mest som krydda, torkad och mald, men färsk gurkmeja kan skalas, skäras i bitar och pressas i vitlökspress. Används ofta till risrätter, främst för att ge riset en vacker gul färg. Kan även användas att färga t ex fisk- och grönsaksrätter med.
