This doesn't sound like the "La Caixa" I know

On the website there is a section for "Extranjeros" (in Spanish, naturally) that says:

Yeah right! Someone should print this out from the website and then try getting a loan in Swedish at their local branch, "cualquier oficina" thery say. Incredible. I remember that Bohman was refused an account there even though he had cash (and spoke good Spanish!). Liars!

good old la caixa.

I saw that also about 6 months ago and went to my local office to try and explain my situation and look for money of course.

I told the guy in the office about the website, he called the manager, he said "tienes razon señor pero nadie habla inglés aqui" so I said then its a lie and he replied "si señor"

You've misunderstood James. They mean:

"(come into any of our offices asking for a loan) and our staff will be delighted to look at you as if you are talking to them in English, French, German, Arabic, Russian or Swedish."
