Yeah, there are a few diamonds but the line-up is a bit por for my tastes. I don't think I'll go this year (then again, I said that last year and went every night). Gang of Four made two good records but hae been crap for years.

Dominique A is very good but three times is enough (he ALWAYS plays Primavera Sound). Jesu - that's someone from a band I used to like...hmmm, who was that now?
Kristin Hersh? What's she doing coming over? Mercury Rev suck these days. The Spanish artists on the bill are not even worth mentioning.
I saw New Order's "LAST EVER" gig at Reading Festival ten years ago. Now I feel old for saying that.
I have seen Sonic Youth twice - once at Sonar when they did an avant-garde set with Yoko Ono and John Cale compositions, which was terrible, then I saw them two years ago at Primavera Sound and they did a greatest hits set, I was very disappointed both times. They should retire from live shows, they are too old, they should just make weird experimental records.
I saw The Arcade Fire in Chicago - they are next "big" (indie) thing. I was disappointed. Hype over content. Again.
Tortoise - yes, have seen them a few times (as Bohman rightly pointed out) and yes, they are dull as f*ck live. Dull dull dull. I bought their guitarist Jeff Parker's album last Saturday and it's boring boring boring - just crappy old noodly poppy jazzy greyness. Thrill Jockey haven't put out a good new record in years.
So (sorry about the long message) no Primavera Sound for me - not even the innauguration with Slint as it got cancelled. Bastardssssssss.

Yes, I can totally agree with Mr Pearse about Tortoise live. I saw them last year as they were curating one of the days at ATP. The bands they picked were all excellent, but then they had to (?) do the last concert themselves, and it was so fucking boring. They should retire, together with Sonic Youth, Gang of Four, New Order...etc etc....

Who is putting together the lineup for Primavera sound? It is truly terrible.

I saw SY once in San Fransico on the Dirty tour, and that was fucking excellent, but that was 10 years ago..., any news on the Sonar line-up?
