As I remember, back in 2002 it was spoken of in awe, as heralding a new dawn in meat-based street food for the drunk in Raval.
A King Doner is a big, dirty hangover killer and no more. Too much meat flavouring in the meat, cheap bread and poor quality 'salad.'
I predict that within a decade, discerning Barcelona-based kebab lovers will look back on 'The King Doner years' in the early 2000s in confusion and shame. How could we have even compared King Doner to Buen Bocado on Escudellers? How could we have been so wrong?
