Latin Kings - now u know
Today in "20 minutos", somebodies favorite soure of information, they had a text about the Latin Kings.
Apparently, to be a good latin king you need to keep your bedroom tidy, respect your parents and their house, maintain a good level in your exams and pay 5 euros a month in membership fees. They regularly hold prayer meeting and strategy sessions. This is the gang that the media has been going crazy about here for the last 6 months, should we be afraid? Ok, in total there are more of them than Thurlesonians, but the whole 5euros, clean your bedroom thingy doesn´t have me conivinced.
Members worldwide (estimated at more than 80,000) celebrate "King´s day" on January 6th and have an all out fiesta for King´s week, which takes place the first week in March, although they claim to protect the neighbourhood from drugs, crime and racism, these are the mothers with the good shit.
The 5 points of the crown represent love, respect, sacrifice, honor and obedience. These guys are mean!!!!
Compared to other gangs, their beliefs/rules are strongly enforced with elections every 2 years to decide who are the "kings" of the barrio and what´s cool and what´s not, with strict rules on 8 being the minimum age for voting. There are usually 5 kings representing each barrio, with each one responsible for upholding 1 point of the crown.
Gang rules are violated by showing fear, cooperating with the police or a crime against a fellow Latin King, and punishment is handed out by fellow members of the gang, which involves the gang beating the shit out of you for several minutes, where you can´t defend yourself or fight back. The same method applies for members entering or leaving the gang.

The latin kings must shit their pants with laughter every time they read 20 minutos, they are seriously tomando los pelos of the "news" paper.
You also have to pay 250 euros to get out of the gang. Hm.
I met a guy who'd been beaten up by "Latin Kings" on Calle Elisabeth. They hit him first with a karate chop to the throat then all started kicking him and robbed him of eveything in his pockets. When he described it all to the police they said it sounded like classic "Latin Kings" behaviour. Gangs are usually a bad idea in my mind. Thy breed dogmatisim and blind faith in people who don't really deserve respect in the first place.

how can a gang memeber be on the net talking shit...i mean come on now...latin kings....man u r just making us latinos loo bad. a king is a real leader who provides for his people and never takes from his people. you have your rules to live by and so do I. I go by setting an example for kids to look up to somebody. Its easy to go out and take somebodies life and steal everyday. But if you think about it its harder to become a man or a woman. Ill fight toe to toe. not 5 on one. I take on my problems by myself. I dont need somebody telling me what to do. I am my own solider..my own warrior. ALKQN is a disgrace to the Latin Community. They are hippocrits that do not live by their beliefs or ideologies. All the members of the ALKQN are making a few people extremely wealthy whilst they play the pawns in the game -- making all the wrong moves until they are checked! (Jailed or Dead).

- Sacrifice for yourself and loveones - People who actually care about you. Otherwise your simply a "nobody" helping the "somebodies." A dojer - scout -soilder - elroy (the jetsons)

You can't honor someone who do not value your freedom and most importantly, your life. No one knows their destiny -- don't be in such a rush to find out. Obedience? to whom? lol fools! Listen to yourself. We all know right from wrong. Most gang members who claim their actions makes them "real" or "brave" are simply weaklings who were afraid to say "NO!" or else it's your "punk ass."
I am a former King. I realized that i was brain washed to the point where i would kill for any on my so-called brothers and sisters until that dreaded day when i decided to elevate myself and attend college, get a job, a home and leave the whole street life alone when i found myself with three guns pointed at my head.
Obviously, I either die on the streets with them or without them... either way i must die.
NOT SO my friend. I own me! There's no puppet master alive to control my movements, thoughts and desiers. I had bigger dreams than the ALKQN. I saw who was getting paid and who was paying. I was ready to get paid... One of the suspect who put their gun to my head was my best friend from the 4th grade. I looked him in the eye and saw he was only doing it primarily becaused he was forced to or felt forced. I knew he wasn't gonna shoot me! At least i hoped he would'nt. I wasn't sure about the others, but fortunately, while i walked away... nervous but defiant... no one shot! Now i'm happier than ever, independent and informed. Stay away from this organization.

hey, my gf has an ex hunsand who is in prison because he beat the shit out of her a million times and sold drugs. he has a 10 year old son he hasn;t contacted since going into prison. he makes her skin crazl and he gets out next year and she is scared to death. is this how all latin kings are? he's really not one, just a punk who thinks he's a bad ass. i'm a whop and could act the same way, but i don;t. he never worked and is just a total loser. she's wondering if she should put legal measures in place before he gets out because she doesn;t want him bringing his loser-ish lifestyle back into the picture to set a poor example for her son. anyway, thanks.

there's to much anger to even see through this facade of words to realize that yes the latin kings are corrupt in every sense of the word why even bother judging them when every one on this planet is a pawn for someone else. Don't have the attention span for making an online identity.... but this post has become a contradiction of both sides. I, being a former Latin Crown, believe in the 5 principals and abid by them but things have changed nowdays. When the Latin crowns a.k.a Latin Kings were started it was started to be a gang that was unlike any other. Bloods, crips, folks, and others strayed frome the true meaning of the gang. It's a brotherhood and i don't mean that just for my brothers i mean that for my sisters to. The main points of the Latin King principals were to be a family and honor the principals and not be.... idiotic like the others. Though Lk is semi-neutral to some, all the other gangs are flawed. They rep the colors and the idea of the gang, not the gang. My gang is my life and being a set king I can say that all of you coming on this site sounding like your big and bad is disrespect to the true Latin king pride! Have you all forgotten that we are one in heart? We pray together and help each other that's why we banded together. Killing and dealing are not considered right in somes eyes... but those who threatened LK's knew better or were warned and had a choice of repenting for it and didn't so they died a well deserved death for stupidity. Dealing wasn't always around as a "Thug life" type of thing but it was our way out... We came and lived poorly so we helped one another and supported ourselves that way and to do that we had to be portrayed as "Thuggish" if not we would have been shot or jumped on spot. I go latin king like the old days and.... that isn't with overly baggy clothes to my knees. No disrespect to the newer generation of the LK but the faith has been lost..... You wouldn't tell me apart from a regular person until I have nothing to do. I am in high school and in school my tattoos are hidden on my bicep and shoulder blades and my flag is hidden around my left arm under my clothes. I work hard enough to pass and then chill with my other crowns and friends, but we do not threaten or beat up people for no reason. We see new kids who arrive coming in representing Crown like that makes them better than everyone so we talk to them and they see the real pride of Latin King.... don't look down on our name, but look down on the people who represent it wrongly. Maybe some of my familia on this site should also remember that.
