Playing the Fat Guy

Well, well..time takes it toll on us all it seems. 25 years of internation pop fame seems to "pasar factura" as they chuckle here. We (my lady friend and I) went to see Depeche Mode at the weekend and while the show was okay (lots of new stuff - boooo - and the old faves - hurrah!) they looked old, tired and above all, fat. Yes!
Andy Fletcher was behind a keyboard stand that had a type of crappy Star Trek look to it, which was actually designed to cover his paunch. He's huge! He came out from behind the keyboard stand and looked like a retired wrestler, who'd opened a pub. Then Martin L. Gore came to the front to do his token ballads ("Question of Time" and "Home" this time) and he looked chubby, wrinkley and tired, too. Damn! The only one who looked "good" was Dave: still skinny, sexy and showman-like.

Who isn´t getting fat these days?
Morrissey is coming to Malmö the 7th of april. I´ll be in first row, if there are any chairs.
(Baltiska hallen... hahhaha,, jag trodde bara avdankade gamla rockband kom till baltiska hallen. Eller, vänta här nu... är Moz.... avdankad... gammal.... oh mein godt.)
Good old fat Moz is gonna rock without hiding his wine belly. We'll be there with pocketflaskor!
Of course they played "Just Can't Get Enough". There would have been a riot if they hadn't.
Each to their own. I think their most recent album was among the best and I really like the new tracks. Dave's fit, so's Martin, I like that they look the age they are. Fletch's simply gorgeous! I love that man! Who cares what they look like actually. They are the world's best band, have been hugely influential and inspiring to younger artists.
