LUCIA

On Sunday CHristian will arrive from the North and withim Pipparkaogor och glögg. I wanted to spread some christmas happiness with a nice picture of the delicious winter options from the north but instead I got grandpa Lundquist's pervie products. I just don't agree with the world order. What did the swedes do wrong when conquering the world?

Christian, will you bring lussekatter och pepparkakor as well?
If you do I'll get the luciadräkt and the head candles and it's a party! Anyone of you barceloners up for coming? Or maybe we should wait until the 6th when James arrives? Or is it going to be another of those uncontrollable Irish long weekends where days blur into each other in an alcoholic frenzy?

Finnish reggae, ischoklad (melted chocolate and cocoa butter in small moulds) and glögg, Swedish time 18.00 to 19.00.

Nice like rice. Sweet like candy. Bra jobbat Tommy.

New schtuff

We have a new washing machine in the flat. It's really, really, quiet in comparison to the old one, who is now sulking in the hall, waiting to be thrown out. Anyone wants it? It doesn't do hot washes and the noise is beyond normal but hey, at least it works. Or maybe Cora already gave it away. We also have a new TV. The laptop is bigger than the tv, that's a doubtful sign. Happy thanksgiving James, don't think anyone in Europe celebrates it though? Turkeys are, well, they're strange. Especially the word is quite strange. And since pictures are mandatory I've chosen this.

Stevie, how did your morning computer course go? Did you sit at the back of the class showing Attitude?

There's to much german litterature in the house.

Snow is falling, all around me...

It's cold here in Chicago. Bright and sunny, but cold. It's less than zero outside but nice and warm in the flat. Happy Thanksgiving everyone, I am off for my turkey dinner and copious ammounts of red wine.

No wonder my brain is in a mess

They changed the blogger welcome page and it's now in Spanish. But on this page everything is in English? They are pushing me over the edge. How did this happen.

Anyways, back in Barca and waiting for the cerveza weekend to start. In Sweden we went to bar, stood OUTSIDE in minus 5 and drank vodka curant under a "warm" little lamp, the tables were covered in snow and I swear to God, it doesn't get more nordic than that. At least not in Skâne. I really do need longfilsingar before I return for Christmas.

I also met lovely miss Blenda and her parents. She's a little skatt!

Google stuff

Check it out, I´m actually number 2 if you make a search on my name erik larsson on google.com, that´s pretty cool! Seems that I have to write some kind of pastoral suite in order to become no 1!

1 for the people that are not very busy

I´m translating a text about this guy called Raymond Scott ( i´m sure some of u nerds know who he is)

Anyway he is presenting this "machine" in Barcelona that creates different versions of 13 tracks that are already versions (remixes I think) and promises that no version will ever be the same. Sounds cool I know ................................BUT the title in Catalan is

Una màquina de fer versions

Can anybody give me a decent title in English pleazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzze

and I dont want to hear about a machine that makes versions for all u wise guys down the back of the class

Question for the english speaking fraction...

...what does arclight mean? what is it?

Oyster
Oyster
MP3+PDF

Oyster is Gregg Kowalsky (Osso Bucco) and Danny L.

This collaboration between the two Florida natives incorporates their use of layered textures with subtle melodies and harmonic undertones. At times thin and buoyant and other times heavy and dark, Oyster is searching for the sounds within sounds. Within the heavy drones are light melodic patterns, which travel in and out of each layer. Upon each listen of their tracks, the listener should discover something new, such as new frequencies and tones.

Talking about good magazines. During lunch I headed down to the Pressbyrån to get the latest XCL8R. Sold Out! Bastards.

I got the WIRED instead.

Good magazine as well. Theme this issue, copyright and the new free music revolution. It feels like that is the theme of every issue. Still, it is interesting reading and cool gadgets to dream about. Good website as well. One of the first website i started reading, coz of the excellent crash courses in web-building.

WOW!

Letter to Bush

Dear President Bush:

Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's Law. I have learned a great deal from you and understand why you would propose and support a constitutional amendment banning same sex marriage. As you said, "in the eyes of God marriage is based between a man and a woman." I try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind them that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination... End of debate.

I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some other elements of God's Laws and how to follow them.

1. Leviticus 25:44 states that I may possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?

2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?

3. I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanness - Lev.15: 19-the problem is how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.

4. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord - Lev.1:9. The problem is, my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?

5. I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself, or should I ask the police to do it?

6. A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination - Lev. 11:10, it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this? Are there 'degrees' of abomination?

7. Lev.21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle-room here?

8. Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev. 19:27. How should they die?

9. I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?

10. My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev.19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? Lev.24:10-16. Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair, like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)

I know you have studied these things extensively and thus enjoy considerable expertise in such matters, so I am confident you can help. Thank you again for reminding us that God's word is eternal and unchanging.

XLR8R review. NSRD001 keep getting reviews.

Osso Bucco/Ljudbilden & Piloten (nosordo/spn/cd) - CD Numero uno for Nosordo is a split disc filled with warmth, doing its best to raise all of the cochlear hairs at once, without leaving  split ends.  The first half, Osso Bucco (Gregg Kowalsky) meanders in the rich caverns of textured sound, and more tingly and electric sensed pop ambient.  Ljudbilden (Kristofer Strom) handles the second half of the disc and he plays with our folk sensibility but thankfully leaves much of the music sparse and unprocessed.

GTA San Andreas

I bought a PS2 last Saturday... I got obsessed Friday when I saw some screenshots from GTA San Andreas. So I went to FNAC hooked my up with the box and the game, put my creditcard on the counter and told them: "Charge this, bitch".

And man... That game is beautiful! You get to do drive-by´s, stick-ups,eat bad food, ride a bmx, curse a whole lot and all kinds of crazy shit!

All situated in ´93-era L.A (Los Santos in the GTA-version).
The soundtrack is awesome, imagine cruising downtown Compton in a jacked ride listening to Ice Cube´s "Good day" while running an intersection...
Recommended.

That time of year again.

There has been some talk of late of what everyone is doing this Christmas / New Year's Eve. Jim mentioned to me that he and Steve would quite probably be in Barcelona this year (good news) and Bohman mentioned passing by for December 31st for some sangria, too. What about Andy, you heading to Europe in December, too, ain't ya? What's everyone else doing? I think I'll be in Barcelona, too, after my extended jaunt around North America, getting up to no good.
